Hey, didn't I see something like this in Minority Report?
Flashlight Weapon Makes Targets Throw Up

It looks like a big flashlight — but it's really a nonlethal weapon designed to make you sick.

Intelligent Optical Systems, Inc., of Torrance, Calif., has been granted a contract by the Department of Homeland Security to develop what it calls the "LED Incapacitator," according to a DHS online newsletter.

The handheld device using light-emitting diodes to emit super-bright pulses of light at rapidly changing wavelengths, causing disorientation, nausea and even vomiting in whomever it's pointed at.

"There's one wavelength that gets everybody," says IOS President Bob Lieberman. "Vlad [IOS top scientist Vladimir Rubtsov] calls it 'the evil color.'"

Every once in a blue moon, a tiny little throw-away acting performance charms the bejeezus out of me. It could be a small role in a film or tv show, or a brief aside in a commercial.

This time, [livejournal.com profile] fidgetcub noticed it first, in an ad for JC Penney. Not only is the spot directed with style and subtle humor, the beautiful little girl in the silent lead role is one heck of an actor.

Every single tiny little look she gives is a flawless piece of sweet, heartbreaking comedy (especially her final, smitten little smile), and makes the spot almost unbearably charming. Whoever she is, I hope she has a long, decidedly non-Lohan-esque career ahead of her.
