After welcoming Gary [livejournal.com profile] garycotti, James [livejournal.com profile] cubbcake and Erik [livejournal.com profile] bearsgonewild back from their AIDS LifeCycle journey this afternoon (along with Sean [livejournal.com profile] zombietruckstop, Jason [livejournal.com profile] fidgetcub, Brad [livejournal.com profile] reddish68, Mikey [livejournal.com profile] sluggobear, Aaron [livejournal.com profile] aairplane, and Kevin [livejournal.com profile] simonbear), I went home to pick up Robert [livejournal.com profile] stage_crafter (who's in town for a conference), and we headed for pizza dinner with some of the guys.

After that, Robert and I drove down to Long Beach for Bear Bar, and met up with Mikey and Erik again for some garden-variety debauchery. A ton of the San Diego contingent was out for the evening, including [livejournal.com profile] thikstache.

After the usual dancing and imbibing, my personal highlight of the evening was driving down the 405 with Erik and Robert, top down, loudly singing along with Earth, Wind & Fire's "Shining Star" and "September" at full volume on the stereo. Good times.

I'm highly considering going to [livejournal.com profile] djmrswhite's for his special "PrideCakes" in the morning -- but seeing that it's already 3:30am, and I'd have to get there by 8:30 or 9am in order to find parking (the WeHo Pride Parade starts at 10am, and they live in Ground Zero Gay), I may end up just sleeping in instead. But damn, I need me some pancakes from The King of Pancakes. Food? Sleep? Food? Sleep? The endless dillema.

Alas, the concept of sleeping in won out this morning, so we missed the King of Pancake's pride-day specials.

Instead, I rolled out of bed, [livejournal.com profile] stage_crafter rolled off the AeroBed, and we both stumbled into the living room to watch a Pimp My Ride marathon on MTV while scarfing bowls of Smart Start with soymilk. Yay, us! The highlight: a '57 Chevy panel van outfitted with DaVinci's sistine-chapel ceiling adorning the cargo area headliner. Sweet!

Now that the parade is over in WeHo, we've showered and are heading out to pick up the wandering shutterbug that is [livejournal.com profile] alexdarke and find some late lunch.

[livejournal.com profile] fidgetcub and I went to see Over the Hedge, tonight, which was actually a lot better than I expected it to be.

Gary Shandling is annoying and sleeps through his voice performance, but everything else is fun -- and the final extended sight gag (involving Steve Carrel's hilarious Hamilton the squirrel and a can of caffeinated energy drink) is unexpected and truly inspired.
