Like the original animated series, it's overly slow and deliberate, but with a tad more of an interesting existential dilemma created for the core story, which kept it from being too boring.
Unlike the animated series, unfortunately, it didn't strive to go bug-nuts-crazy-over-the-top with the action scenes (i.e. it was lacking "sixty-five cartwheels while firing both guns without mussing the hair", as

However, there were gasps to be had. The real reason to see it -- on a big screen, if you can (it's in the dollar theaters by now) -- is the same reason to watch the animated series. It's pure, unadulterated design porn. The movie equation could be summed up as:

Seriously. I'ts like an action film made by the editors of ID, Wallpaper, and German Vogue.
