STILL IN NC
Sep. 12th, 2005 10:21 amWent to a great Greek festival here in Charlotte over the weekend. The food was so good, we ended up going there for lunch on Friday, dinner on Friday, and dinner on Saturday. I'm filled to the brim with spanikopida and loukomedis -- which sounds like I should apply some sort of salve.
Saw "The Constant Gardener" yesterday, which was beautiful and haunting and sobering and well crafted in the first half, but turned didactic and preachy in the second. I mostly enjoyed it, mainly due to the John le Carré source material -- I certainly liked it more than the director's previous film, "City of God", which I totally hated.
Went out for fondue afterwards, which amounted to three hours of cheese and meat and chocolate. There are much worse ways to spend a Sunday evening, I'll admit... but I still miss
fidgetcub to death, Especially when eating copious amounts of cheese. Which is moderately disturbing.
However, the luggage rabbits made a surprise re-appearance on this trip, which made me very happy indeed.
