You Are 30% Left Brained, 70% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.

Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.

If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.

Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.

Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.

So much has been happening, but I'm not sure how to write about it all.

It's odd. It's not an emotional paralysis of any kind, or confusion about what to write -- I have a lot about recent events to share, including Dad, but I'm at a loss at how to present it. It's like I want to wait until I can post it all at once, like one big catharsis. In the meantime, I think I might just post about life in general and the stuff that's been keeping me busy -- but even then, I waffle on what exactly to write about.

But then I realize that it all seems very intertwined -- and that waiting for the perfect time for the perfect journal entry might be a bit of a pipe dream. I keep editing myself, not writing in my journal when I really want to, because I seem to be more concerned about the order/logic of the presentation than the content.

I need to get over that, I think.

Any of my close friends will tell you that I have a fairly pertinent left brain, and usually over-analyze things. To me, it's a stressful yet comforting way to find an emotional center point to something. To others, it can be a thinly-veiled need for validation and acceptance. Either way, at least it's something I'm aware that I do.

Anyway, I'm back in Charlotte this week, getting back to work. Maybe that will help.
