Virginia made me a Redneck.
(I'm in Richmond on business -- I was outside all day for a press event, and the weather was gorgeous and clear and I didn't have any sunscreen with me.)
On a more pleasant note, spent the balmy evening with
carytown over pizza, DQ alfresco, and a movie -- capped off by a nice evening drive with the moonroof open and the iPod blasting.
You'll recall a few weeks ago on a previous trip to Richmond that I discovered a sign with a humorous bulb outage -- well, Cary and I noticed a bunch more around town this time, most of them literally a stone's throw from that original "Awful House" near my hotel in Ashland.
So, a late-night photo safari was born. We giggled our way through a few hours of driving, hunting down whatever sign mishaps we could find. Keep in mind that these were all taken on the same night, within twenty minutes of each other. These are all unretouched -- no photoshop whatsoever. What is it with this town and shoddy sign maintenance?
First, there was the buddist burrito house,
for zen tacos and chinese/mexican delicacies:

Then, this chinese/italian pizza spinoff chain:

Across town, a Japanglish tire shop:

Dunno what this one means -- suggestions?

This was a chain of Russian-themed motels:

And finally, for those who don't
like to spend a lot of money on their load:
