Virginia made me a Redneck.

(I'm in Richmond on business -- I was outside all day for a press event, and the weather was gorgeous and clear and I didn't have any sunscreen with me.)

On a more pleasant note, spent the balmy evening with [livejournal.com profile] carytown over pizza, DQ alfresco, and a movie -- capped off by a nice evening drive with the moonroof open and the iPod blasting.

You'll recall a few weeks ago on a previous trip to Richmond that I discovered a sign with a humorous bulb outage -- well, Cary and I noticed a bunch more around town this time, most of them literally a stone's throw from that original "Awful House" near my hotel in Ashland.

So, a late-night photo safari was born. We giggled our way through a few hours of driving, hunting down whatever sign mishaps we could find. Keep in mind that these were all taken on the same night, within twenty minutes of each other. These are all unretouched -- no photoshop whatsoever. What is it with this town and shoddy sign maintenance?

First, there was the buddist burrito house,
for zen tacos and chinese/mexican delicacies:

Tao Bell

Then, this chinese/italian pizza spinoff chain:
Pizza Hu

Across town, a Japanglish tire shop:
Good Yea

Dunno what this one means -- suggestions?

This was a chain of Russian-themed motels:
Da Inn

And finally, for those who don't
like to spend a lot of money on their load:

Oh, and the chorus concert last weekend went swimmingly -- many heartfelt thanks to those of you who made it out to the show, and for your support and kudos.

Thanks as well to all the LJ well-wishers in regards to my voice -- I felt fine just in time for the show, and all of my solos went smoothly. The chorus sounded lovely, and it was a truly amazing concert, at least from my perspective in the risers. :)

I'll have plenty of pix and a full run-down of the weekend events later, once I can collect my thoughts and photos -- it was quite a whirlwind weekend, and Ms. Tomlin was simply amazing.

More to come...

The aforementioned press day was for a new TOMB RAIDER attraction we just opened, and part of the celebration included an appearance by none other than Lady Croft (not the Jolie variety -- and more ride pix/video coming soon):
