Last night was beers and boys in Long Beach with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
djmrswhite, bobaloo, and teelo & paul. Late evening, T&P and me stopped at Mel's diner for snacks, and a giant posse of press and photographers crowded the tiny diner; it seems one of the LA mayoral candidates was on some sort of 48-hour promotional tour of the city, talking with people and kissing babies and such. He asked if we'd seen his commercials, and we replied, "no, we have TiVO" (to which his assistants replied by furiously scribbling on their notepads).
Today was supposed to be brunch with T & P andhowbearca, but I passed in favor of sleeping in a bit. I also have an audition today, for a small-group puppetry number in the upcoming GMCLA show with Lily Tomlin on April 1-3. If I get the part, I'll be performing "If You Were Gay" from Avenue Q, which would be a hoot. I'm happy to say that I've already gotten two other solos in the show ("Pretty Things" by Rufus Wainwright, and a small-group performance of "Imagine"). If you're planning on coming to see the show, get tickets NOW, because they're already almost sold out.
The lovely and talentedprokampf is also in town for a conference; he and I and fidgetcub and T & P and howbearca and his hubby Griff are all headed out for a fabulous Japanese dinner tonight.
Tomorrow, I fly to Richmond VA, staying in Ashland VA (right near work) through Thursday afternoon, then flying to Cincinatti OH, staying overnight in Mason OH (also for work) and returning home to LA on Friday night.
