Bears on Film
Feb. 9th, 2004 12:08 pmThanks,
moroccomole, for pointing out that Miguel Albaladejo's new movie is playing at the Berlin Film Festival, and hopefully will be coming stateside sometime soon. It's called Cachorro, ("Bearcub") and revolves around the gay/bear scene in Madrid (and features a number of guys that I hung out with while was there in Feb-Jun 2002).
Albaladejo's a really neat guy -- I went to the premiere of his last movie with him and a bunch 'o bears when I was in Madrid, and he told me all about this new one, that it would be a really frank and explicit (!) view of the Spanish bear scene. Coupled with his knack for funny, poignant human stories -- and that they usually are about the intersection of very dissimilar people -- it should be quite interesting.
