Feb. 5th, 2004 10:09 pmCompletely Unexpected Great Movie Of The Week (C.U.G.M.O.T.W.?)...
Believe it or not, TEACHER'S PET is an unexpected treat.
Snappy writing, goofy and inventive musical numbers that poke fun at Disney classics like Pinocchio and Cinderella, and perfect voice casting from the likes of Megan Mullally, Wallace Shawn, Nathan Lane, Kelsey Grammer, Debra Jo Rupp, David Ogden Stiers. and Jerry Stiller -- not to mention really wonderful art and design by creator/exec. producer Gary Baseman, the "Cranium" guy -- make this well-reviewed but under-marketed movie yet another Disney screwup. It totally deserves to find an audience.
(Definitely worth a look when it comes out on DVD -- much of the visual gags go by so fast, that a quick-trigger on the pause button will help loads)
