TODAY ON THE BBC

After a few weeks' absence due to my work travels, I've returned to my weekly schedule of chatting with my pal John Barnes on his UK radio show. Today we chat about Black Friday, reindeer in LA, pretending it's Winter, and KISS in concert.

The show runs every Wednesday at ten o'clock (22:00) in the UK, and my segment is about ninety minutes into the show -- meaning you can hear it in the U.S. at about half-past three, Pacific Standard Time.

EDGE COASTER

Probably the most bizarre coaster I've ever seen, the "Edge Coaster" on top of the Crown Regency Hotel and Towers in Cebu City, Philippines.

The coaster track skirts the edge of the hotel roof -- at forty stories -- for approximately 5 minutes and there's a choice of an "insanity" program where the speed varies. The coaster cars tilt to a maximum degree of 55 degrees via a joystick on the lap bar restraint.
