Today on my pal John Barnes' UK radio show, we chat about Kylie at the Hollywood Bowl, Halloween at the local theme parks, Gustavo Dudamel's LA Philharmonic debut, and LA's 1960s architecture turning fifty.

The show runs every Wednesday at ten o'clock (22:00) in the UK, and my segment is about ninety minutes into the show -- meaning you can hear it in the U.S. at about half-past three, Pacific Standard Time.

You can listen on the internet at BBC Lancashire; look for John's show in the daily schedule, or just click the "Listen Live" link around three-thirty today, PST.

As many of you have already heard, the PEE WEE HERMAN SHOW that I so excitedly blogged about over the Summer has been rescheduled (to January) and relocated (to Club Nokia at LA Live), and original ticket holders were able to call Ticketmaster this morning to re-purchase tickets ahead of the public sale next week.

My new tickets are for the Saturday, January 23rd show at 4:30pm, Section #102, Row D, Seats 5-8.

However, after re-purchasing my tickets, Brian [livejournal.com profile] kingfuraday told me that his Ticketmaster phone rep informed him that the assigned seat numbers "are just place holders... he said it's a general-admission, first-come first-serve show".

After getting the event date and venue changed, and having to pay a *higher* ticket price for the new venue, to have it *also* be general admission would be a total let down, especially since I spent over two hours redialing the phone this morning to connect with TM and change my original order.

Pee Wee: please, please tell me that the event indeed *does* have assigned seating.

Wow, just in time for Halloween, the LA Opera is selling more than 2500 costume pieces to create more room for its ever-growing production repertoire.

Pieces for sale will include everything ranging from complete “merry peasant” and “medieval courtier” costumes to individual pieces such as capes, hats, shoes and fans. Highlights of the collection will include a number of “diva dresses,” stunning hand-crafted gowns worn by LA Opera’s leading ladies.
