Click for MoreA few weeks back, [livejournal.com profile] urso came for a visit and we spent a Sunday afternoon at Six Flags Magic Mountain. After a day of riding coasters, we headed to the iconic Sky Tower for a quick scenic view before heading home.

Lo and behold, we discovered that the park had installed a museum -- called "The Magic of the Mountain" -- high atop the tower, filled with photos, models, collectibles, and memorabilia charting the park's near-40-year history.

It's nothing too fancy, fairly cheaply put together, and not heavily marketed within the park -- but what it lacks in finesse, it makes up for in nostalgia and heart, and it definitely comes across as a labor of love. It was especially nice to see all the old marketing materials, logos, and graphic designs that evolved in their first few decades. And, of course -- the Trolls! I sure do love Indexed, and today's ironic holiday entry is typically up to par.
