Jason's heading to Canada next week for his yearly visa renewal, leaving on the red eye Tuesday and coming back about a week later.

I suggested to him that we spend some time taking down the christmas tree this weekend, and he pouted in protest. "Why not?" I chuckled.

"Because I want to see it when I come home."

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] boringpostcards for sending me to this awesome mashup album. Trippy, multilayered, and very listenable, especially if you're a Lynch fan. Be sure to poke around the site a bit, too.

GIRL TALK

While we're on the topic of mashup albums, some kids at work recommended Feed the Animals by Girl Talk, and I've had it in heavy rotation lately. I'd never heard of Greg Gillis and his Girl Talk project before, and he's kind of batshit crazy, using dozens (hundreds?) of samples to create each track, but seemingly only a few seconds of each song (to prevent having to pay for the samples, I'm assuming?). It's sort of amazing to listen to all the way through, and I'm sure makes for one hell of a party album.
