I work near the Burbank Equestrian Center, which is surrounded by a few urban city blocks that are equuine-friendly. It's a curious holdover from when most of the San Fernando Valley was ranch land, up until the 1940s.

The horses even get their own crosswalk buttons (up high enough for their riders, of course).
