DINNER AND A MOVIE
Feb. 7th, 2008 10:14 amOn Monday night, we enjoyed a lovely dinner out with the
sunbeam_bears out in their neck of the woods in Thousand Oaks. They took us to an awesome relic of a steak house called Corrigan's -- started by famed movie cowboy & stuntman, Ray "Crash" Corrigan. The place is just as you'd imagine -- all wagon-wheels and oil-lamp fixtures and saddles and western tchotchkes on the walls from Crash's long and storied career (including opening a western theme park, Corriganville, in the 50s). The food was actually great, and the campy atmosphere and lovable company made for a nice night.
Completely unrelated,
fidgetcub and I went to see Hannah Montana 3D last night.
No, really.
Technically, it's one of the first all-digital 3D movies to be released (shot digitally, displayed digitally). Plus, seeing that it made nearly thirty million dollars over its first weekend -- SuperBowl weekend, to boot -- and on less than 700 screens -- I wanted to see what all the hubub was about.
Plus, I'm really a fifteen-year-old girl. But you knew that already.
Plus, since it was a 9:15pm showing on a school night, GoldStar had tickets for two dollars, and the theater was nearly empty (maybe Disney's "one week only!" / "extended due to overwhelming demand!" switcheroo only resulted in a great first weekend, but otherwise fizzled -- only time will tell).
