The first day at the new job was lovely; most of the folks there, I've worked with before on other projects, so it was easy to get started right away and sort of "gel" right into the process. Mostly, it's just very nice to be working for grown-ups again. Mind you, they're very energetic, imaginative, sometimes hyperactive and very passionate grown-ups with boisterous inner children -- but grown-ups nonetheless.
Then
fidgetcub and I went out to dinner with
popebuck1,
knepbear &
bobaloo, and we all went to see BEOWULF 3D. I'd seen a rough-cut animatic at my old job about six months ago and enjoyed it, but the finished product in Real-D was far better than I expected. Exciting, beautiful, and surprisingly moving.
