LANDED IN SEOUL
May. 8th, 2007 06:36 amThe flight to Incheon was uneventful, except they didn't have on-board wireless internet like last time. Slept a bit, watched some TV, slept some more.
The heart of Seoul can be shiny and pretty at night -- but the 20-mile drive from Incheon airport to our hotel in downtown Seoul wasn't so shiny or pretty. It's mostly glum and gray with an endless repetition of what seems to be the exact same apartment building over and over again. It was also rush hour, and the awful traffic created a tedious drive of nearly three hours for that short distance.
Once in my surprisingly swanky hotel room, I was greeted by my flat-screen TV, ordered some comfort food in the form of spaghetti with meat sauce, and am now planning to crash and catch up on sleep. More later.
