Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] urbaniak, this 20-minute piece by video artist Nate Harrison is a "meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip" which some call "the world's most important 6-second drum loop." It makes for interesting lunch-at-your-desk viewing.

My entries in [livejournal.com profile] aairplane's proposed "Grindhouse Trailer Meme" are a bit different. While I did see my share of bad horror and exploitation movies in my teens, my first real memories of the "cheapo" movies were much earlier, at weekend matinees when they'd show all those weird "family" films from Sun Classic Pictures.

They used to advertise them like CRAZY on Saturday morning TV in the 70s, and I'd end up spending entire Saturday afternoons at the UA Cinemas in North Hollywood watching them. Some were docu-dramas, some were about unexplained phenomena, some were overtly religious... titles like In Search of Noah's Ark and Hangar 18 and The Late Great Planet Earth and The Bermuda Triangle.

Unfortunately, I could only find trailers for these two...
