Attention power-pop fans: this is the catchiest song I've heard in awhile.

If you're a fan of ELO, Queen, Bleu, L.E.O, or even Grace Kelly, you'll love it.

His name's Mika, and evidently he has a MySpace with more tracks, but I have yet to hear them because I can't stop playing the video for this one...

Props to my friend Markus for sending me this via email this morning...

My friend Kevin at work dug up this interesting video of a new live arena show based on the BBC's popular "Walking with Dinosaurs" documentaries, currently touring Australia.

Just as those TV shows re-create dinosaurs in stunning CGI detail, this live arena show re-creates a number of dinosaurs -- live, in full-scale, and seemingly autonomous -- through some really clever engineering and live puppetry. Quite impressive.

Be sure to check out the show's website, and take a look at the behind-the-scenes videos of these beasties under construction.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] citizenpep for posting this eye-opening article from New York magazine about how praising smart kids may actually have an adverse effect.

This article sort of fills in a lot of blanks for me.

Found on Ain't-It-Cool-News...

A 3D imaging company out of Montreal has developed a printing process that allows for a holographic image -- or up to eight seconds of video -- to be printed in full-color, high-resolution poster form. This is a pretty major step forward, well beyond the limitations of lenticular posters.

Click the picture to see video samples, including a test image they made for James Cameron, of one of the T-100 robots. Notice the range of motion on each poster, which covers an entire "pass" as you walk by -- and a few of them (like the soccer player) even show full motion (again, up to eight seconds). Pretty neat stuff.
