GAMERCYCLE

From the GamerCycle website:

"The GamerCycle fitness system is NOT an interactive video product. You don't control the players in the game by pedaling or steering, nor does the GamerCycle interfere with the normal operation of the video games. The premise is simple - as long you keep pedaling, the television screen is on... stop pedaling, and the TV screen goes blank. "

Creepy. This can only lead to an outdoor-activity-free future of retinal TV implants and food through an IV tube.

[livejournal.com profile] teelo & Paul and [livejournal.com profile] fidgetcub & me went to see A SCANNER DARKLY last night. It was mildly entertaining -- but to my tastes, not nearly trippy or paranoid enough, given the way it was made.

Overall, it's not awful, we kinda liked it, but it's no great shakes. It's a pretty straightforward movie, and without the odd live/animated hook, it would have been pretty damn boring. It was pretty to look at, though, and Robert Downey Jr. was a hoot to watch in the numerous, rambling, Linklater-y scenes.

The trailer for Michel Gondry's THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP looks really, really good.

"What happened that summer... is a huge part of me."

Just watched MYSTERIOUS SKIN. Cathartic and fearless and horrific and vulnerable and disarmingly humane -- even funny in spots.

That Gordon-Levitt fella is one hell of an actor.
