Let the Sun Shine In
Jan. 11th, 2005 12:25 pmHuge thanks to everyone who sent birthday greetings yesterday -- it definitely cheered me up amongst the gloom of the rain, and all the positive vibes has resulted in a spectacularly clear view from my office window today (looking Northwest from Gower & Melrose in Hollywood, towards Century City and Beverly Hills).

I took my birthday off from work on Monday to hang out with
trapezebear, who is in town visiting family. We got soaked at Universal Studios for a few hours, if you can believe it (bad weather means a *great* day to go to a theme park, no crowds! Yes, we're nerds), and then went home to warm up to some of
fidgetcub's cooking and some DVDs of SPACE: 1999. Good times.
By the way,
trapezebear has an exceedingly evil dimple in his grin, and could easily be
redbeardedblond's brother, both in looks and personality. Both have similarly sweet, gooey insides that temper their evil potential. :)
Over the weekend, had a nice visit with the ever-groovy couple
keanubear and Greg, including a great Bobbleheads show Saturday night, and after-gig nosh at Canter's deli. Greg was also instrumental in helping out with my weekend project, which involved the complete dismantling and re-wiring of my entire home theater system, to incorporate a new component-video switch box and new DVD recorder I got for Christmas. Despite the occasional self-directed barking and frustrated snarling on my part, I usually find such exercises very therapeutic.
Speaking of frustrating technology, why I am I having such bad car karma lately? December 28th: my car has a bad fuel pressure sensor, $400 repair... Jan. 31st: Jason's car throws a rod, needs entire engine replaced... Jan. 6th: my car gets a flat, shreds the tire... Jan 8th: my car's battery dies and needs a jump. Not like I was broke enough already. Sheesh.
Eh, it's just money. And they're just cars. It'll all pass. For now, I'm enjoying a lovely view and keeping pleasantly busy. :)
