Art Lives On
Jan. 5th, 2005 02:29 pmI found out yesterday that an internet pal of mine in Italy, Raffaele Gallo, passed away in October due to health problems. We had never met in person, but had been chatting online for about two years. His partner, Antonio, saw me online and let me know.
Raf was an art teacher and a very talented artist himself as well. For Christmas 2003, he sent us a "shard" from a large canvas he had painted and subsequently destroyed, in order to send all of his friends "a small piece of his heart", in his words. It has hung on a wall in our home in a tiny frame ever since, and I smile every time I pass it.

I still look forward to meeting him, actually :)
A memorial website has been set up here. He will be missed.
Ciao, bello!
